LeBron James has made history by becoming the first player in NBA history to score 50,000 career points, combining his regular-season and playoff totals. This incredible milestone was achieved during the Los Angeles Lakers’ home game against the New Orleans Pelicans on March 4, 2025. James needed just one point to reach the milestone and did so with a three-pointer in the first quarter.
The 40-year-old basketball superstar finished the game with 34 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, leading the Lakers to a convincing 136-115 victory over the Pelicans. James’ combined scoring total now includes 41,871 regular-season points and 8,162 postseason points.
This achievement is just the latest in James’ long list of accolades, which includes being the league’s top scorer, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s regular-season scoring record on February 7, 2023, and breaking Michael Jordan’s playoff scoring record on May 25, 2017.
