MINISTRU IAN BORG BRUSSELL 2 1

Malta’s Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, Ian Borg, has reaffirmed the country’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian Authority. During a discussion with Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyal ad-Maliki, Borg commended the Palestinian Authority’s efforts in establishing a political horizon and working towards a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Malta’s support for the Palestinian Authority is aimed at revamping and revitalizing the organization to effectively govern Gaza.

The Minister emphasized the importance of adequately reinvigorating the Palestinian Authority to address the humanitarian needs in Gaza. Malta’s stance aligns with the EU’s efforts to promote a two-state solution, and the country has called for the full implementation of the UN Security Council resolution to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. By supporting the Palestinian Authority, Malta aims to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the conflict and promote stability in the region.
