US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that the US will destroy its oil wells, power plants, and main export terminal, Kharg Island, if Tehran doesn’t quickly accept a peace deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated that taking control of Iran’s oil would be his “favourite thing,” but acknowledged that some people in the US might object, calling them “stupid”. ¹ ² ³ The threat comes as oil prices surge, with Brent crude rising above $115 per barrel, and the global economy faces potential disruptions.

The situation remains tense, with Iran threatening to target energy infrastructure of Gulf Arab countries and the US deploying thousands of troops to the region. Trump claims negotiations are progressing, but Iran denies direct talks with the US. The conflict has already killed thousands, disrupted energy supplies, and impacted the global economy.
