A former sergeant is facing fraud charges, allegedly due to differences with the commissioner and Attorney General (AG). The case involves Jason Arroyo, a former Chicago police officer, who was charged with theft and misconduct alongside another officer, Edis Skrgic, and former Assistant State’s Attorney Ashley Moore. They’re accused of fraudulently collecting over $100,000 in overtime benefits by falsely claiming to listen to prisoner phone calls.

In another case, former NYPD Sergeant Sally Spinosa was charged with 9/11 benefits fraud, allegedly exploiting her position to falsely claim hundreds of hours of recovery work, defrauding the government and taking benefits she didn’t deserve. These cases highlight tensions between law enforcement officials and their superiors, leading to allegations of misconduct and fraud.
