Flamengo has secured its fourth Copa Libertadores title with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Palmeiras at the Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru. The winning goal was scored by former Juventus defender Danilo da Silva, who headed in a Giorgian de Arrascaeta corner in the 67th minute. This victory marks Flamengo’s first Copa Libertadores win since 2022 and makes them the first Brazilian team to achieve four titles.
The match was a closely contested affair, with Palmeiras pushing hard for an equalizer but ultimately coming up short. Flamengo’s defense held strong, and they nearly doubled their lead in stoppage time with Everton’s curling free kick rebounding off the far post. With this win, Flamengo takes home $24 million and a spot in the 2029 Club World Cup.
