A man has been remanded in remanded police custody for allegedly stabbing and killing 25-year-old Assam TV actor Mriganka Barman over a love triangle in Guwahati’s Garchuk area. The accused, Jan Muhammed Ali, allegedly attacked Barman with a bamboo stick and stabbed him after discovering that Barman was with a woman they both knew. The police arrested Ali within three hours of the incident, recovering the weapons used in the crime. According to the police, the attack was premeditated, and Ali had called Barman and the woman to a parking area where he struck Barman, resulting in his death. The police have registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to punishment for murder.
