A devastating car accident in Croatia claimed the lives of a brother and sister who had reportedly traveled together for many years without incident, although the exact duration of their accident-free travels is unclear. The incident occurred on the D-8 road near Sllano, where a BMW SUV driven by Klevisa Ymeri, a 29-year-old model and social media influencer from Shkodra, Albania, collided with the victims’ vehicle at a speed of almost 170 km/h. Ymeri has been sentenced to one month’s detention for causing the accident with fatal consequences.
The victims, Stjepan and Katarina, lost their lives at the scene, leaving their family and loved ones in shock. The brother of the deceased, Viktor Xerek, has been vocal about seeking justice for his siblings’ tragic deaths and wants the public’s help to raise awareness about road safety. Ymeri’s past encounters with the law, including a 2017 arrest in France for drug trafficking, have also come under scrutiny.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and Ymeri’s detention sentence has sparked conversations about accountability and justice.
