US President Donald Trump is expected to spend his Saturday playing golf at his Turnberry resort in Scotland, despite protests planned across the country. The Stop Trump Coalition has organized demonstrations near the US consulate in Edinburgh and another in Aberdeen, where Trump owns a golf resort. Security is tight, with Police Scotland deploying a massive operation, including officers on quad bikes, sniffer dogs, and horses, to monitor the situation.

Trump’s visit has divided the local community, with some expressing distrust and concerns about his policies, while others have shown support. A retiree, Graham Hodgson, described Trump as a “megalomaniac,” while 46-year-old Lee McLean praised Trump’s focus on America’s best interests. Trump’s arrival at Prestwick Airport on Friday evening drew hundreds of curious onlookers, with some supporters waving “Make America Great Again” flags.

During his visit, Trump is scheduled to discuss trade with EU chief Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday and meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Trump’s love for Scotland stems from his mother’s birthplace, but his controversial politics and business investments have made his relationship with the country uneasy.
