The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for seven states, including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. Temperatures are expected to rise by up to 5 degrees Celsius, with some areas reaching 44-45°C.
A yellow alert has been issued for several districts in Rajasthan. The IMD’s color-coded warning system categorizes heatwaves into different levels of severity. The government is working on issuing location-based heatwave warnings to enable people to take necessary precautions.
