The White House has accused the “radical left” of being responsible for the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old American woman, by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis. The incident occurred during a “targeted operation” by ICE, with the agent claiming self-defense after Good allegedly attempted to run him over. President Donald Trump defended the agent, stating that Good “violently, willfully, and viciously” ran over the officer, who was hospitalized and recovering.
Vice President JD Vance echoed Trump’s sentiments, blaming the shooting on a “broader left-wing network” opposed to ICE and urging Democrats to condemn the violence. The White House framed the incident as part of a larger pattern of attacks on law enforcement, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stating that law enforcement is “under organized attack”.
The shooting has sparked protests in Minneapolis, with Governor Tim Walz calling for a full investigation and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey demanding ICE leave the city. The incident has also reignited debates over immigration enforcement and police conduct.
