Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accepted the resignation of his chief of staff, Andrii Yermak, following a dramatic anti-corruption raid on his home in Kyiv. The move comes amid a $100 million energy-sector scandal, with investigators searching Yermak’s residence as part of a sweeping probe into alleged corruption involving top Ukrainian officials and the state nuclear energy generator, Energoatom.

Yermak, a close ally of Zelenskyy and Ukraine’s lead negotiator in peace talks, confirmed the raid on his home, stating that investigators were given full access and he was cooperating fully. Although Yermak hasn’t been accused of wrongdoing, the scandal has shaken Zelenskyy’s government and fueled public anger, with some lawmakers calling for Yermak’s dismissal to restore trust.

The resignation adds to the pressure on Zelenskyy, who faces intense US pressure to accept a peace deal with Russia. The corruption scandal has already led to the resignations of two government ministers, and Yermak’s departure may further complicate Ukraine’s negotiating position.
