Russia has strongly condemned the recent US and Israeli strikes on Iran, labeling them a “dangerous adventure” that could spark a humanitarian, economic, and potentially radiological catastrophe in the region. Moscow has urged an immediate halt to the military campaign and a return to diplomacy, accusing Washington and Tel Aviv of pursuing regime change in Tehran. The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that the attacks risk triggering an “unpredictable chain reaction” and an “escalating spiral of violence,” placing full responsibility for the fallout on the United States and Israel.
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, criticized the operation, questioning Washington’s long-term resolve and contrasting America’s 249-year history with Persia’s 2,500-year civilization. Russia has also evacuated nearly 100 people from Iran, including employees’ children and non-essential staff, while keeping personnel at the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
