Hillary Clinton testified before the US House Oversight Committee, denying any knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and calling for President Donald Trump to testify about his connections to the late sex offender. Clinton stated she had no information about Epstein’s activities, never recalled encountering him, and had never visited his island or flown on his plane. She accused the Republican-led panel of trying to “protect one public official” – Trump, and urged them to question him directly under oath about his ties to Epstein.
Clinton’s testimony came amid scrutiny of her and her husband Bill Clinton’s connections to Epstein. Bill Clinton has acknowledged flying on Epstein’s plane for charitable work but denied any wrongdoing. The committee’s chairman, James Comer, said evidence gathered by the panel doesn’t implicate Trump and emphasized the investigation is bipartisan.
