Iran has launched a series of missile and drone attacks on US military bases and Israeli targets across the Gulf, in response to a joint US-Israel military strike that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The retaliatory strikes have caused widespread disruptions, with explosions and sirens reported in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. The attacks have also led to flight cancellations and airspace closures, affecting major airports in the region.
The Iranian strikes targeted US military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar, as well as Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv. The Israeli military said it had intercepted multiple hostile aircraft launched from Iran, while the US military reported minimal damage to its facilities and no casualties. The Iranian government has vowed to continue its attacks until the “enemy is decisively defeated”.
