Dr. Paul Chetcuti Caruana, a Mosta-based doctor, has passed away at the age of 77. He was previously targeted by a letter bomb in 1977, which was intended for him but tragically killed 15-year-old Karin Grech, the daughter of another doctor, Edwin Grech. The bomb was sent amidst a hospital strike, and despite investigations, the perpetrator was never caught. Dr. Chetcuti Caruana, a Labour Party MP at the time, received a similar package, but it didn’t detonate.
