Malta has expressed its readiness to contribute to the European Union’s Defence Readiness Roadmap 2030, a comprehensive plan aimed at strengthening military capabilities across the bloc by 2030. This initiative is part of the EU’s broader efforts to enhance its defence architecture, complementing NATO’s role while addressing growing security concerns along its eastern flank.

The Defence Readiness Roadmap 2030 focuses on key areas such as anti-drone technology, integrated air defence systems, and space-based assets for security purposes. Malta’s contribution will likely involve participating in joint military projects, establishing capability coalitions, and enhancing security for critical infrastructure systems.

By contributing to this roadmap, Malta aims to support the EU’s security objectives while also strengthening its own defence capabilities. This move aligns with the EU’s goal of achieving defence readiness by 2030, ensuring a more robust and coordinated defence strategy across member states.
