The Qbajjar Battery in Gozo, a historic 18th-century artillery battery, is at risk of further deterioration, prompting calls for urgent action from the tourism lobby. Din l-Art Ħelwa, a heritage conservation NGO, has welcomed the government’s decision to hand over the battery to them for restoration and management. The battery, which was previously used as a nightclub and disco, has suffered significant damage and neglect over the years. The NGO plans to restore the site and open it to the public, potentially hosting cultural events and concerts.
