Malta International Airport has announced a significant financial milestone, with a record-high net profit of €46 million in 2024. This impressive achievement is attributed to the airport’s strong traffic performance, which saw a substantial increase in passenger movements. According to the airport’s revised guidance, the strong nine-month performance has led to an expected net profit of €46 million for the full year.

The airport’s revenue is expected to total €141 million, with EBITDA reaching €85 million. Capital expenditure for 2024 is projected to be €64 million, with a focus on major infrastructural projects such as the construction of Apron 8 South, the first phase of the Terminal Expansion Project, and the development of an upgraded VIP Terminal.

Passenger traffic at the airport has been growing steadily, with 6,896,928 passengers welcomed during the first nine months of 2024. October saw a notable 8.7% growth in passenger traffic compared to the same month in 2023, with over 800,000 passenger movements recorded for the first time. The airport expects to welcome around 8.96 million passengers by the end of 2024.
