The Labour Party has been ordered to vacate its Valletta party club within 30 days following a court ruling that upheld an eviction request. The decision brings to an end a long-running dispute over the use of the premises, which has served as one of the party’s main clubs in the capital for many years.

According to court documents, the order was issued after the owners of the property sought to reclaim possession, arguing that the Labour Party no longer had the legal right to occupy the building. The court found in favour of the applicants and granted a 30-day period for the party to remove its belongings and hand back the keys.

The ruling has sparked political reaction, with the Valletta club being regarded as a historic meeting place for Labour supporters in the city. Party officials said they are reviewing the judgment and considering their next steps, while also making arrangements to comply with the court’s directive should the vacating order stand.

The case highlights the ongoing legal battles over party clubs and property ownership that have affected both major political parties in recent years, particularly in Valletta where property values and demand have increased significantly. The Labour Party is now expected to relocate its activities to alternative premises in the area as it prepares to vacate the club within the stipulated timeframe.
