Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has announced that a decision on the former world heavyweight boxing champion’s next fight is imminent, with a potential bout expected to take place before the end of 2025. Hearn revealed that talks are underway for a “tune-up” fight, aiming to get Joshua back in the ring after a 14-month hiatus following his loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
The proposed fight would be a low-key affair, with minimal media obligations, allowing Joshua to focus on regaining his fighting rhythm. One potential opponent being discussed is YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, although Hearn emphasized that no formal offer has been made. If the fight goes ahead, it would be a significant step-up in competition for Paul, who has previously expressed interest in facing a bigger opponent.
Hearn expects to make a decision on Joshua’s next fight this week, with possibilities including a bout in Monaco, Ghana, or Saudi Arabia. The goal is to get Joshua back on track, potentially setting up a bigger fight against Tyson Fury in 2026.
