The Alternativa Demokratika Partit Demokratiku (ADPD) has put forward an alternative proposal to the Smart City road project, suggesting that instead of building the road, the city should focus on extending San Klement Park. According to the ADPD, expanding the park would provide numerous benefits to the community, including enhanced green spaces for recreation and relaxation, improved air quality, and a boost to local biodiversity.

The party argues that investing in green infrastructure like parks can have long-term benefits for the quality of life in urban areas, and that this approach would be more in line with sustainable development goals. In contrast to the Smart City road project, which aims to improve connectivity and traffic flow, the ADPD’s proposal prioritizes environmental and community needs, highlighting the ongoing debate about how best to balance development with sustainability and public well-being.
