A future PN government is committed to introducing incentives that will position Malta as a leader in innovation, PN leader Bernard Grech stated during a recent visit to STMicroelectronics in Kirkop.
Grech emphasized that these incentives would further enhance the invaluable contribution of companies like STMicroelectronics to Malta’s economy. He acknowledged the company’s significant investments and reaffirmed the PN’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment that attracts and retains high-value investments.
Commitment to Economic Growth and Investment
During the visit, Grech highlighted the Nationalist Party’s commitment to keeping up with Malta’s evolving economic challenges, particularly in attracting new investments to the country. The PN delegation stressed their intention to ensure that companies which have heavily invested in Malta remain committed to their operations, providing stability and growth opportunities.
The party outlined its plan to strengthen collaboration between STMicroelectronics, MCAST, the University of Malta, and the Chamber of Engineers, ensuring that the sector has a continuous supply of skilled workers, including engineers, to meet the demands of the industry.
Malta’s Debt Projections Remain Under Control
On the financial front, the Fiscal Council reported that if the current expenditure path and underlying assumptions materialize, general government debt is expected to slightly decrease from 49.2% of GDP in 2024 to 48.8% by 2028. Over the medium term, the debt ratio is projected to further decline, reaching 42.3% of GDP by 2038, remaining well below the EU’s 60% threshold.
According to the council, these projections are plausible based on the current economic plan, ensuring that Malta maintains financial stability while fostering innovation-driven growth.
A Future Built on Innovation
The PN’s vision for Malta’s future is firmly rooted in innovation and economic sustainability, with a focus on building partnerships and nurturing local talent to meet the demands of high-tech industries. As the global economy continues to evolve, the party aims to position Malta at the forefront of technological advancement and investment attraction
