A painting of Blessed Nazju Falzon was recently inaugurated at the law courts in Valletta, Malta, highlighting the life and legacy of this revered Maltese cleric. Blessed Nazju Falzon, a 19th-century lawyer turned catechist, was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2001 for his tireless work in spreading the Catholic faith, particularly among British soldiers stationed in Malta. He is remembered for his kindness, generosity, and commitment to religious instruction.
Falzon’s remarkable story includes his decision to forgo priestly ordination, feeling unworthy of the honor, yet dedicating his life to serving others as a catechist and mentor. His devotion to the Eucharist, Mary, and Saint Joseph inspired many, and he was instrumental in converting hundreds to Catholicism.
