Venezuela has stated that it retains full sovereignty over its natural resources as part of its recent oil deal with the United States, emphasizing that the agreement does not compromise its national control.

Officials in Caracas clarified that while the deal allows for increased cooperation and trade in the oil sector, Venezuela will continue to exercise complete authority over its energy policies and assets. The statement was aimed at addressing concerns that the arrangement might be perceived as a concession of control to Washington.

The oil agreement marks a significant development in relations between the two countries, which have experienced strained ties in recent years. For the United States, the deal is seen as part of efforts to diversify energy supplies, while for Venezuela it represents an opportunity to boost its economy through enhanced trade.

Both sides have described the deal as mutually beneficial, with Venezuela underscoring that its sovereignty remains non negotiable despite the expanded commercial engagement.
