A joint exhibition featuring Maltese and Italian artists is set to showcase the rich cultural heritage and artistic dialogue between Malta and Italy. The Embassy of Malta in Rome has been actively promoting cultural exchanges, with recent exhibitions highlighting the works of renowned Maltese sculptor Antonio Sciortino and artist Willie Apap. These exhibitions demonstrate the strong artistic ties between the two nations, with Sciortino’s work transcending borders and Apap’s paintings capturing the essence of spirituality.
The collaborations aim to strengthen institutional ties and bring Malta’s cultural heritage to a wider audience. Other notable exhibitions include “Il Battesimo Di Cristo Alessandro Algardi ; La Versione Maltese,” showcasing Algardi’s bronze sculpture, and “Homo Melitensis: An Incomplete Inventory in 19 Chapters,” which explores Maltese cultural identity through contemporary art and historical artifacts.
