The Ċumnija wastewater treatment plant in Malta is set to receive a significant upgrade, with a €33 million investment aimed at enhancing its environmental sustainability and efficiency. The project, tendered by Water Services Corporation Malta, involves designing, building, testing, and commissioning the upgrade using environmentally friendly measures. The upgrade aims to ensure the plant’s hydraulic resilience and effective treatment of raw wastewaters until at least 2040. The project will be implemented in two phases, focusing on designing and building a new wastewater treatment plant and ensuring its seamless integration.
