Two men were recently deported from Malta after being caught living in the country illegally. This follows a series of coordinated efforts by the Immigration Police, who have been cracking down on irregular immigration. The men, who were held in a detention center, had been serving prison sentences for offenses such as living a vagrant lifestyle and aggressive begging. They were returned to their countries of origin in separate operations.
In related news, Malta’s Immigration Police have continued their inspections, arresting 35 individuals on Saturday and Sunday for living and working in Malta irregularly. The detained individuals, hailing from countries like Syria, Afghanistan, and Ghana, have been issued orders to leave the country and are awaiting repatriation.
