Liverpool’s Swedish striker Alexander Isak is facing a two-month absence after suffering a broken ankle and fibula in a “reckless” tackle by Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven. The 26-year-old was injured while scoring the opening goal in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Spurs on Saturday. Manager Arne Slot described the challenge as “reckless” and expressed disappointment over the injury, stating that Isak was getting closer to his best form before the setback. Isak had undergone surgery on Monday and is expected to miss Liverpool’s crucial fixtures, including their FA Cup match against Barnsley and Champions League games.
