A worker has been accused of misappropriating €3,336 from his employer, a construction company, between January 2021 and August 2022. The accused, whose name has not been disclosed, allegedly falsified records and used company funds for personal expenses. The incident came to light during an internal audit, which revealed discrepancies in the company’s accounts.
The accused has been charged with theft and is currently facing trial. The prosecution alleges that the accused exploited his position of trust to embezzle the funds, taking advantage of lax oversight and internal controls. The company has cooperated fully with the investigation and is seeking restitution.
