The US Congress has requested former Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, to testify before the House Oversight Committee regarding his ties to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. This development comes after King Charles III stripped Andrew of his royal titles and evicted him from the Royal Lodge over his connections to Epstein.
The request, made by 16 Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee, aims to uncover the identities of Epstein’s co-conspirators and understand the full extent of his criminal operations. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, but the allegations against him have sparked widespread criticism and calls for transparency.
The committee’s letter to Andrew cites “well-documented allegations” against him and his “long-standing friendship” with Epstein, indicating that he may possess valuable information relevant to the investigation. Although the committee lacks the power to compel Andrew’s testimony, the request signals growing pressure on the former prince to cooperate.
Andrew’s association with Epstein has been a subject of intense scrutiny, with critics questioning how the royal family handled the situation. The scandal has led to a decline in public support for the monarchy, with some calling for Andrew to face consequences for his actions. The outcome of this situation remains uncertain, but it has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the royal family.
