Nico Conti’s solo exhibition, “Reflections on Porcelain,” is currently on display at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta, Malta, until October 23, 2025. The exhibition showcases Conti’s evolving relationship with porcelain as both a material and metaphor, spanning five conceptually distinct rooms. Through his work, Conti explores the emotional and psychological depth of working with porcelain, inviting viewers to reflect on care, memory, and artistic vulnerability.
Conti’s artistic approach combines traditional techniques with digital innovation, utilizing 3D-printed porcelain to challenge the perception of ceramics as purely decorative. His unique creations are designed to interact with light, enhancing their delicate and refined qualities. By blending humble materials like clay with cutting-edge 3D printing technologies, Conti imbues his pieces with elegance, balance, luxury, and beauty.
The exhibition highlights Conti’s background in fine arts, having completed his B.A. (Honours) in Fine Arts at the MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts and later studying ceramics at the Royal College of Art in London. During his time at the Royal College of Art, Conti received several awards and was even invited to present his 3D-printed work to HRH, the Prince of Wales.
“Reflections on Porcelain” offers a glimpse into Conti’s artistic journey, showcasing his ability to push the boundaries of traditional ceramics and create stunning, intricate pieces that evoke emotion and narrative. Visitors can explore the exhibition at the Malta Society of Arts, located at Palazzo De La Salle, Triq ir-Repubblika, Valletta, from Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 7pm, and Saturdays, 9am to 1pm.
