US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, threatening to “completely obliterate” the country’s oil wells, power plants, and Kharg Island if a deal isn’t reached to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump’s ultimatum comes as oil prices surge, with Brent crude climbing above $116 per barrel. The US is reportedly in “serious discussions” with a “new, more reasonable regime” in Iran, but Trump has also signaled a willingness to seize Kharg Island, a critical oil export hub.

The situation remains fluid, with Iran denying direct talks with the US and threatening retaliation if attacked. The conflict has already driven up global oil prices and disrupted shipping through the vital Strait of Hormuz. Trump has set an April 6 deadline for Iran to agree to a deal, warning of “retribution” for past attacks on US personnel.
