US President Donald Trump has dismissed rumors about his health as “fake news,” stating that he was “very active” over the Labor Day weekend. The speculation about his health swirled on social media platform X, citing Trump’s lack of public schedule and a recent interview with Vice President JD Vance. Trump’s physician, Sean Barbabella, had previously released a letter stating that Trump “remains in excellent health” despite some minor issues, including swelling in his lower legs due to “chronic venous insufficiency,” a benign and common condition, especially in people over 70.

The White House also clarified that the bruising on Trump’s hand was consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and aspirin use. Trump underwent an extensive physical examination on April 11 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which found he had a normal heart rhythm and no major health problems. Vance expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to serve as commander-in-chief, saying he was “in good shape,” while also indicating his readiness to step in if anything happened to the president.
