Thai Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Miss Universe Co-Owner Amid Fraud Allegations

Robert Avatar

A Thai court has issued an arrest warrant for Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip, co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, over alleged fraud worth $930,000. The warrant was issued after Jakrajutatip failed to appear in court for a scheduled verdict in the case, with the court interpreting her absence as an attempt to evade justice. Jakrajutatip and her company, JKN Global Group, are accused of misleading a plastic surgeon into investing in corporate bonds despite knowing the company’s inability to repay.

The Miss Universe Organization has stated that these legal proceedings are separate from its operations. Jakrajutatip, a well-known transgender businesswoman in Thailand, acquired the Miss Universe franchise in 2022 through JKN Global Group but has faced financial difficulties, including missed investor payments and debt rehabilitation procedures. The court has rescheduled the verdict to December 26, but Jakrajutatip’s whereabouts are currently unknown, with reports suggesting she may have left for Mexico.
