A Swedish man has come forward, revealing he backed out of a plot to attack the Israeli embassy in Sweden due to a change of heart. The incident is linked to a series of attacks on Israeli embassies in Europe, with Sweden’s intelligence agency Sapo suspecting Iran’s involvement. In February, a grenade was found on the premises of the Israeli embassy in Stockholm, and in May, gunfire occurred outside the embassy, prompting increased security measures.

The recent attacks, which included hand grenades thrown near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen and shots fired at the Israeli embassy in Stockholm, have been connected to the Swedish criminal network Foxtrot, allegedly operating on behalf of Iran. The US has sanctioned the Foxtrot Network and its leader, Rawa Majid, for their alleged involvement in the January 2024 attack on Israel’s Stockholm embassy.

The Swedish man’s decision to pull out of the plot highlights the complexities of international relations and the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attacks.
