Russia has blamed Ukraine for a gas tanker explosion that occurred between Malta and Libya, alleging that Ukrainian naval drones attacked the Russian-flagged liquefied natural gas carrier, Arctic Metagaz. The incident happened on Tuesday, causing the vessel to sink, but all 30 crew members were rescued safely. The Russian transport ministry described the attack as an “act of international terrorism and maritime piracy”, claiming the drones were launched from Libya’s coast. Ukraine has not publicly commented on the allegation.
