Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House, where he’ll urge Trump to take a tougher stance on Iran’s ballistic missile program in ongoing nuclear talks. Netanyahu’s concerns stem from Iran’s recent missile launches and its support for regional militant groups. He believes any negotiations must include limitations on ballistic missiles and a halt to Iran’s support for its allies.
The meeting comes after US-Iran talks in Oman, where Iran rejected expanding discussions beyond its nuclear program. Trump has warned that if no deal is reached, “something very tough” might be necessary, hinting at potential military action. Netanyahu’s visit was moved up from February 19, indicating the urgency of the situation.
