According to the Houthi-run Al Masirah TV, Israel has bombed the Yemeni capital Sanaa, killing at least six people and injuring 86. The assaults on Sunday hit an oil plant, a power station, and the presidential palace, which Israel claimed was part of a “military complex.”

The Israeli army said the strikes were in retaliation for ongoing Houthi attacks, including missile and drone launches targeting Israel. “The attacks were done in reply to the Houthi terrorist regime’s continuous assault on the state of Israel and its inhabitants,” the army said.

Denying Israel’s claims of hitting military sites, Houthi authorities charged Israel with bombing civilian infrastructure. “What Israel is doing is barbarism,” said Abed al-Thawr of the Houthi Defense Ministry, adding that the palace hit had long been abandoned.

“The Israeli aggression against Yemen will not discourage us from continuing our support for Gaza, no matter the sacrifices,” Houthi official Mohammed al-Bukhaiti declared.

Describing the Israeli attacks as a “war crime” carried out with US help, the Houthi Government of Change and Reconstruction Praising the Houthis’ “brave” posture, Hamas also denounced the attacks as a “flagrant violation of Arab sovereignty and international law.”

Two days after the Houthis declared they launched hypersonic missiles and drones toward Israel and promised to keep up their campaign until Israel stops its attack on Gaza, the escalation followed. Over the past month, Israel has been aiming at Yemeni power stations and ports.
