French police raided the Arab World Institute in Paris, the former workplace of ex-culture minister Jack Lang, as part of an investigation into his connections with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The raid is linked to a preliminary investigation opened by prosecutors into Lang and his daughter Caroline on suspicion of tax fraud, following the release of Epstein-related documents by the US Department of Justice. Lang, who led the Arab World Institute since 2013, resigned earlier this month after his name appeared 673 times in correspondence with Epstein between 2012 and 2019. Both Lang and his daughter have denied any wrongdoing, with their lawyer stating there was no movement of funds.
