Jannik Sinner got his ATP Finals title defense off to a solid start with a dominant straight sets win over ailing Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in Turin. The Italian star, currently ranked No. 2 globally, strengthened his bid to claim the year-end No. 1 spot with a 7-5, 6-1 victory. Sinner’s impressive performance was marked by his 27th consecutive win on indoor hard courts, showcasing his exceptional skills and precision.

Auger-Aliassime, visibly hampered by a left calf injury, struggled to counter Sinner’s attacks, requiring medical timeouts during the second set. Despite the Canadian’s efforts, Sinner’s dominance was evident, winning 89% of his first-serve points and forcing five break points. Sinner’s victory keeps him in contention for the year-end No. 1 ranking, currently held by Carlos Alcaraz.
