Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is thrilled after his team’s 4-1 win over Everton, marking their first away league win since April. The Magpies’ victory was fueled by a strong first-half performance, with Malick Thiaw scoring the fastest goal of the season after just 52 seconds, followed by goals from Lewis Miley and Nick Woltemade. Thiaw added his second goal in the second half, securing Newcastle’s first top-flight away win in over seven months.
Howe praised his team’s performance, saying, “That was really important as we haven’t had that feeling enough or at all.” He added, “I’m just pleased I don’t have to answer the dreaded questions on it. We have a lot of work to do to say we have solved some of the issues we have had, but it is a big moment for us. A step forward.” The win moves Newcastle up to 11th in the Premier League table, and Howe is hopeful that this victory will be a springboard for the rest of the season.
