Mohamed Salah has made his much-anticipated return to Liverpool training on Tuesday, following his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Egypt. The Egyptian striker was put through a gentle workout with the rest of the squad at the club’s training centre in Kirkby, ahead of their UEFA Champions League match against Olympique Marseille. Salah’s return has been a major talking point, especially after his explosive interview earlier this month where he accused the club of throwing him “under the bus” and mentioned having no relationship with manager Arne Slot.
Despite the controversy, Slot expressed his happiness to have Salah back, stating, “I am happy that he comes back. Mo has been so important for this club, for me, so I am happy that he is back.” The Liverpool boss also mentioned that even if he had 15 attackers, he’d still be happy to have Salah return. Salah’s availability for the Marseille match remains uncertain, but he’s expected to be part of the squad.
