Daniil Medvedev secured his second Dubai title after Tallon Griekspoor withdrew due to a left hamstring injury. Medvedev, who reached the final without dropping a set, beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals and was set to face Griekspoor, who had defeated Andrey Rublev in straight sets despite struggling with the injury. Griekspoor’s withdrawal marks a disappointing end to his impressive run in Dubai, where he beat top players like Alexander Bublik and Jakub Mensik. Medvedev now ties Jannik Sinner for the second-most hard-court titles among active players with 21.
This win is Medvedev’s 23rd ATP Tour title and his second of the 2026 season, following his triumph in Brisbane in January. “Not how I want to win a final. Hoping the injury for Griekspoor is not too bad and wishing him a speedy recovery,” Medvedev wrote on X.
