Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United’s latest signing, is thrilled to follow in the footsteps of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo at the “biggest club in the world”. The 25-year-old forward has completed a £65 million switch from Brentford, with a potential £6 million in add-ons, and has signed a deal until 2030 with an option for a further season. Mbeumo expressed his excitement, stating, “For me, it’s the biggest club in the world, in England as well. I think the fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and I think every player wants to play here”.

Mbeumo’s admiration for Ronaldo dates back to his childhood, when he wore a Manchester United jersey with Ronaldo’s name on the back. “I think my first top was a Manchester United top with Ronaldo behind. It’s just such a big club and I’m really happy to be here,” he said. The Cameroonian international believes that manager Ruben Amorim’s approach aligns with his own values, saying, “I think they have similar values. He seems really close to his players and his mentality, his winning thinking every time. This is a thing that I need”.

Mbeumo’s signing is part of Manchester United’s efforts to boost their firepower after a disappointing season, where they managed only 44 goals in 38 Premier League matches. The team is set to head to the United States for their pre-season tour and will face Arsenal in their first Premier League game of the season on August 17.
