With the option of a one-year extension, Manchester United have verified the signing of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo on a contract expiring in 2030.
According a club source, the 25-year-old Cameroon international joins United for an initial fee of £65 million ($88 million), with a potential £6 million ($8 million) in performance-based addons.
With 20 goals—only behind Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland—and helping Brentford finish tenth, Mbeumo had an outstanding Premier League season in 2024–25. Starting every league game and demonstrating versatility playing as a right winger as well as a centreforward, he was a major player at the London club.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams,” Mbeumo said. “My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday.”
In 2019, Mbeumo came Brentford from French team Troyes and 242 times, 70 goals and 51 more assists.
United’s director of football Jason Wilcox said Mbeumo “one of the most productive players in England” and a primary target for the summer, praising the acquisition.
Following Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Enzo KanaBiyik, he becomes United’s fourth summer acquisition. Under new coach Ruben Amorim, Mbeumo is expected to be part of the club’s forthcoming United States preseason tour.
