Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso has called for “maximum commitment” from his team as they face crucial World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Norway. The Azzurri are currently second in Group I, three points behind leaders Norway, and Gattuso is urging his players to give their all to secure a direct spot in the 2026 World Cup.

Gattuso’s message comes as Italy prepares to face Moldova on Thursday and Norway on Sunday, with the latter being a high-stakes match at Milan. The Italian team has been revitalized under Gattuso’s leadership, racking up four consecutive wins and scoring 16 goals. However, they will be without injured striker Moise Kean and Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa, who has declined to play for Italy during the November break.

Gattuso emphasized the importance of focusing on their own performance and not worrying about Norway’s results. Italy needs to win both matches convincingly to overtake Norway’s goal difference and secure a direct qualification spot.
