The Australian Open was hit by extreme heat on Saturday, with temperatures soaring to 38C and triggering a five-hour suspension of matches on outside courts. Despite the challenging conditions, Novak Djokovic powered to a landmark win, becoming the first player to secure 400 Grand Slam match victories. He defeated Botic van de Zandschulp 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) on Rod Laver Arena, showcasing his remarkable endurance and skill.

On the other hand, Naomi Osaka withdrew from the tournament due to an abdominal injury, just hours before her scheduled match against Australian qualifier Maddison Inglis. The two-time champion had made a stylish entrance earlier in the week, wearing a jellyfish-inspired outfit, but was unable to take to the court.

Other top players, including Jannik Sinner and Madison Keys, also had to battle the heat to advance to the next round. Sinner survived a grueling match against Eliot Spizzirri, while Keys impressed with a statement victory over Karolina Pliskova.
