The race featured a competitive lineup of eleven trotters. Early on, Eberton, guided by Rodney Gatt, set a strong pace, edging ahead of The Lion, driven by Swedish professional Bjorn Goop, and Gold Dairpet. However, with just 400 metres remaining, Eberton faltered, losing rhythm and facing disqualification. This opened the door for Gold Dairpet, which surged forward to claim its first victory in Malta. The runner-up spot went to Favori De Bry (Ludvic Ghigo), followed by Forban (Roberto Vecchione) in third. Fitzy De Vive (Laura Frendo) also secured a spot in the final.
