Professor Alex Felice, a distinguished geneticist and public health expert, has sadly passed away at the age of 77. He was a leading figure in the field of genetics, particularly in the study of thalassemia and other rare blood disorders. Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Felice served as a professor at the University of Malta and as a Visiting Consultant in Thalassemia and Molecular Genetics at Mater Dei Hospital.
He was also an honorary board member of the National Alliance for Rare Diseases Support – Malta and had been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the field of genetics. Professor Felice’s work had a significant impact on the understanding and management of genetic disorders, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of scientists and researchers.
