The Planning Authority has given the green light to the controversial Nigret block development, pushing the project ahead even as local residents, environmental groups, and community leaders voiced strong opposition.
The decision follows months of heated debate over the scale of the proposed construction and its potential impact on the area. Critics argued that the Nigret block would put additional pressure on already strained infrastructure, increase traffic, and change the character of the neighborhood. Others raised concerns about environmental effects, including reduced green space and the strain on water and public services.
Despite the objections, the PA concluded that the project aligns with broader housing and urban development goals for the region.
